In a meeting on the sidelines of the extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha on Monday, Pezeshkian highlighted that the continued violence perpetrated by the Israeli regime is only possible due to the support it receives from the United States and European countries.
He stressed that a cohesive response from all Muslim nations is essential to effectively counter these aggressions. The president, pointing out that the Israeli regime attacked Iran in the middle of indirect negotiations with the United States, said the regime also bombed the venue of the Palestinian resistance officials’ meeting while they were discussing the American peace proposal.
Pezeshkian condemned the recent bombings in Gaza and the suffering inflicted upon innocent civilians, particularly children and women. He called for Muslims to unite as a single force to halt these atrocities, asserting that the claims of the US and Western nations regarding diplomacy and human rights are mere fabrications.
The president further said that Iran stands ready to broaden cooperation, deepen bilateral relations, and harness shared capacities with Iraq across all sectors, in the interest of both nations and the wider region.
In response, Prime Minister al-Sudani underscored the importance of strengthening the growing relationship between Iran and Iraq, emphasizing the need to expedite the implementation of existing agreements.
Al-Sudani pointed out that the recent Israeli aggression against Qatar demonstrates Israel's blatant disregard for international laws, necessitating coordinated efforts among Islamic countries to take serious action against such violations.
He urged that the movement sparked by Israel's attack on Qatar should be sustained, advocating for continuous communication and coordination among Islamic nations to establish a common Islamic-Arab position.
The Iraqi prime minister also reiterated the importance of maintaining an active diplomatic dialogue between Iran, the United States, and European states, believing that a robust diplomatic front would limit opportunities for individuals like Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to impose their narratives on the world.
